A Torn ACL!

And...just weeks before Peyton's arrival, Jeff decided to participate in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. He came home much earlier than I expected & had that "look" in his eyes. He went on to say that this tournament is going to end up being a very expensive one. And then he broke the news to his very pregnant wife. He had torn his ACL. He knew that is what he had done, because about 10 years ago this happened to his right knee. So the pain was very familiar.

Surgery it was. We chose to go ahead & have the surgery done before Peyton comes. He is now 3 weeks out from surgery & has started Physical Therapy. He has been a very good patient and is recovering very quickly.

Our Baby Boy is Now 8!

Where has the time gone? This is a question we ask ourselves on a daily basis. It was just yesterday that I held Jayden in my arms for the very first time. Now, he is 8. This year he was very surprised to get a Nintendo Wii for his birthday. He had not "technically" asked for one, but often reminded us that "all" of his friends had one. It was so fun to totally shock him with something he had no idea he was getting. He loves it! We have enjoyed watching him play it & of course joining in with him.

I'm A Little Stinker

Q - How we love him & his little spirit!

The other day I was sitting in the recliner with a bit of a stomach ache. Quinton walks up and says, "Mommy, are you tired?" I said no, my tummy just hurts a little bit. He thought for just a moment and then held up his arm, clinched his fist, and said "You want me smash Peyton?"

We totally cracked up. Apparently he thought Peyton was hurting Mommy. :-)

36 Weeks...Only 4 To Go...Maybe Less!

36 weeks...

Here we are at 36 weeks. I had a check-up at the Dr. and to our surprise we are already dilated to a 1. Only 9 to go! :-) Maybe Peyton has his own due date in mind. After learning this news, I went into a bit of a panic and came home & packed right away. I have been having some contractions, but so far they are tolerable & do not have a consistent pattern. So I guess we just wait. I am so curious to see when & how he will make his entrance. Jayden is so very excited & continues to count down our days. Quinton, well, each day he has a different opinion on having a baby brother. It will be interesting to see how he handles the presence of a new little one.

And so we wait...

Upward Basketball 2010

This was Jayden's first year to participate in Upward Basketball. He played in the program offered through First Baptist Church here in Bentonville and it was great! It seems as though Jayden may be a natural at basketball just like his Dad. Jayden had so much fun playing! One game he scored 5 baskets in a 6 minute period...he was "On Fire!" He was so cute to watch. He is definitely a "little Jeff." Even my Mom commented on how much he reminded her of Jeff out on the court. We enjoyed every game & he always had a fan club. Jeff, myself, Q, Granny & Grandad, Papa & Grandma, attended every game. Uncle Chris, Aunt Jaclyn, Audrey, Taylor, Uncle Jason, Aunt Nella, Alex, Uncle Larry & Aunty Cristy attended a few games also. Throughout the season he received 2 of the "Christ-Like" stars. We are very proud of him & can't wait to see him grow & develop his "skills!"

32 Weeks and Counting...

32 weeks and counting...

Here we are at 32 weeks. Only 8 weeks to go! Our official due date is May 18th, however, earlier is always better. We certainly do not need this baby to go over! :) We see the Dr. every 2 weeks at this point and once we hit 36 weeks, we will begin going every week. His little room is ready & I will post some pictures of that very soon. We are just waiting...

Week 27

27 weeks

We are now 27 weeks along. Some days it seems like this pregnancy is going by really fast and other days it seems really slow. We now officially see the Dr. every 2 weeks. Peyton Jeffrey will be here before we know it! We can't wait to meet him.

Winter Fun With Dad!

So, I have been quite delayed in posting this blog. And I didn't even have to write it! This one is from Jeff. As you can see, they had lots of fun.

Yeah, I live my life through my 7 year old ... so what!!

We were blessed with about 6"-8" of snow late last week. It was a really neat snow storm because there was minimal ice in the beginning and then the snow came down ... and down ... and down! It started Thursday night and never stopped until Saturday morning!

With this much snow, your only question is not are you going to play in it, but how often you will have to come in and run your hands under hot water to return them to their normal color and functionality! When Jayden wanted to go outside and have a snowball fight, I was more than happy to hit him in the face with a tightly packed and carefully constructed snowball!

Saturday morning, after the freezing fog, the snow was perfect for building a fort! So that is what we did. I can remember back in the day when we used to do this after a snow storm, and the cool forts and igloos we built. Jayden was excited and very helpful, I was the snow block builder and he was the one filling in the holes. "Hey dad, I want to add this and that!" he said. Which I quickly kaboshed with, "You don't know what you want son, leave this to me!"

In the end, HE got a really cool fort to hide in and I had to run around dodging his snowballs. We had a good time building memories!

He loves me..He loves me not? HE LOVES ME!

As a wife & mommy of 2 boys (soon to be 3), it is always a special day when the flower lady rings the doorbell "just because!"

An Official Name

We are 22 weeks in and we have officially decided on a name for our little lad. His name will be "Peyton Jeffrey Chadd." His middle name is obviously after his Daddy. Jayden's middle name is "Lee" which is my Dad's middle name. Quinton's middle name is "Hughes" which is after Jeff's late Grandpa Elmore. So we wanted Peyton's middle name to have meaning as well.

We are counting down the days, working on his room and purchasing those baby items that we will need to survive.

Without a Doubt..It's a Boy!

Here is the picture from our December ultrasound which identified this baby's gender. And as you can clearly see, "it" is definitely all boy!

Baby # 3

As most of you know, back in September, we were surprised to learn that we were expecting Baby #3. Of course we were very excited. Surprised, but excited! It has been a great pregnancy so far. In the beginning we had a few issues, but all turned out ok and everything has been great since.

Jayden has been so excited. We underestimated just how excited he would be. Quinton on the other hand, just goes with the flow. You can ask him where the baby is & he will point to my tummy. But other than that, he is not that interested! :)

Jayden was really hoping for a baby sister. And I might add that a girl to be on my side would have been nice. However, God had something else in mind. We found out the week of Christmas that we were having a baby boy! Jayden went with us to the ultrasound & enjoyed every minute of it. We decided to surprise our families on Christmas with a DVD of the ultrasound. Everyone was expecting a baby girl, and in fact, we even got some baby girl gifts on Christmas. BUT, that baby girl ended up having some "extra" parts if you know what I mean.

We are very blessed and thrilled to add 1 more baby boy to our family! I have attached a few pictures of my growing belly & and his ultrasound picture from November. I will post the December ultrasound pictures as soon as possible.
